There’s a lot that goes into making the move
to a senior living community. While it can seem
like a daunting endeavor, it doesn’t have to
be. That’s why we’ve invited the senior move
specialists at Segues to share their expert
insights on how to declutter and rightsize,
as well as their strategies on deciding what
to keep, what to sell, and how to sell it.
Here’s some footage of progress being made on our new apartments and assisted living!
Construction began this week on our apartment entrance (main lounge). For the next 13 weeks, this area will be closed so we can make some exciting changes. Once the refresh is complete, the apartment entrance will have a new look and offer many new ways for residents to connect with their neighbors and guests.
While construction is underway, residents and guests can use the main entrance, library entrance, or door 1 (green room) to access the building.

Spring is always a great time of year to sell your home, and we are offering another reason to consider a move this year. Big things are happening at Cedar Crest. JP Cullen has started the site work for our new apartment and assisted living expansion that will be ready in 2023. We will be giving regular updates as progress continues. We are starting meet to with Pioneers (priority depositors) about selecting their preferred apartment. Upon selecting their next home, they will sign a contract and pay the initial 10% deposit of the entrance fee. After the Pioneers have made their decision, any remaining apartments will be made available to our wait list and then the general public. Want to find out more? Contact us for more information.
We are breaking ground soon on our next cottages. Each cottage features zero-step entry, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, screened porch, laundry on main level, and a shower in the master bath. Each home will take 8-10 months to build and will be ready fall 2022. When you build with us, 10% of the entrance fee is due at signing, an additional 20% is due when it is halfway done, and the remaining 70% is due when we hand you the keys to your completed home.

At the onset of our expansion campaign, we were planning on expanding 4 areas of our campus: Cottages, Apartments, Assisted Living, and Villas. Taking on a building project of this scale in the midst of a global pandemic has presented a unique set of circumstances for our leadership team. At this time the board has decided to move the project forward without the Villas. All of the participants in the pioneer program for Villas have been contacted, and many have decided to pivot to our Apartments or Cottages.
Here is the latest update on our campus expansion:
1) Cottages: We continue to build new single-story ranch homes on the southern end of our campus. Four are currently under construction and pricing and floorplans for the next two will be available early December.
2) Timeline for Apartments and Assisted Living: Site work is scheduled to begin spring 2022. At this point we are projecting that both will be ready for occupancy in late 2023.
3) Apartments: Changing the scope of the project impacts the cost basis of the expansion, and we want to make sure that the entrance fees and monthly fees reflect the actual costs of the work. As soon as we have determined this, we will begin to contact pioneers about selecting an apartment and making the initial 10% deposit.
4) Assisted Living & Memory Care: More information will be available in the coming year. We recognize that at this point we have more demand than supply in this area and the expansion will help us address this need.
