COVID-19 Testing Update 5/28/20

On 5/19/20 COVID-19 testing was administered to all Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents.  All of the tests have produced negative results.

COVID-19 Testing Update 5/22/20

At this time, we have no new cases of COVID-19 on our campus. In an effort to maintain the health and safety of our residents, will we be continuing with the restrictions that are currently in place.

Per the Department of Health Services , we have tested all residents in our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, and Assisted Living areas. We are awaiting these results. At this time, our medical director does not recommend asymptomatic testing in Independent Living. Staff testing will be taking place in the near future. We anticipate that following this testing, we will be providing further information on softening restrictions on the campus.

Until that time, we encourage all residents of our campus to continue to follow previous recommendations. Although many businesses are re-opening, residents of our community remain in a “high risk” group. We encourage all of our residents to be thoughtful of the health and safety of the campus, and to continue to perform self-monitoring daily. Per the CDC, signs and symptoms of illness may include fever, cough, new loss of taste or smell, shortness of breath, new headache, sore throat, or muscle pain.

Cedar Crest Statement on COVID-19 Diagnosis 5/13/20

Janesville, WI – A case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed in an employee of Cedar Crest.  At this time, no residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

“The staff member is in quarantine at home.  We have notified public health officials as required and are following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention,” said David Tanck, CEO.  “We are taking every step as recommended by authorities to contain the spread.  We want to make residents, their families, our dedicated staff, and our community aware of this situation and reassure everyone that we are on top of the situation.  Efforts are already underway to test all Cedar Crest staff and residents in our main campus for COVID-19.”

Throughout this pandemic, Cedar Crest has focused efforts on heightened infection control measures:

Prior to each shift, staff is required to wash their hands, take their temperature, and answer a series of questions to ensure they are not exhibiting any known COVID-19 symptoms.  Any employees who develop symptoms during a shift are immediately sent home.  At that point, they are directed to quarantine at home.

We also conduct a rigorous sanitation regimen that follows all state and federal guidelines.  Please know that we have increased the daily volume of cleaning done in common, medical and residential areas.  All protective and medical equipment are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Although this can be a challenge at times when providing medical care, our facility continues to practice safe distancing guidelines by limiting the number of people in one area and maintaining six feet of separation.   Employees are required to wear masks at all times.

We are closely working with our Medical Director and the Rock County Public Health Department and are thankful for their partnership and support.  We are monitoring information from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as well as those from federal agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and CMS.

Cedar Crest Townhome Update 4/6/20

Siding, Framing, and Social Distancing

If you haven’t taken a drive down Waterford Court lately, I encourage you to stop by and take a peek (while staying in your car at a safe distance).

  • How is COVID-19 impacting the expansion?
    • Money committed for pre-construction entrance fee is fully refundable, so people building with us have confidence that if the market doesn’t recover, they can cancel without penalty (only money committed for upgrades is non-refundable).
    • The crews working on the expansion fall in the bucket of “essential” so work continues for them.
    • We are currently unable to do any tours or face to face meetings, but there are still plenty of ways to contact us.
  • Construction Update:
    • 1966 Waterford: This is the green building that you see pictured.  The single family ranch is currently being sided, and cabinets will be installed next week.
    • 1977-1979 Waterford: The crew started framing the home this week and you can see them in action in the picture.
    • 1957-1959 Waterford:  We don’t have an exact date for when the foundation work will start on this, but hope to have one soon.
  • Pricing:
    • Pricing for our new Townhomes includes the cost of construction and appliances.  We do not factor in the value of the land in the pricing, so you are able to get a home that would cost more in the open market.  Our entrance fees for the new units are currently $290k-$400k.  Entrance fees are 85% refundable on all homes.  Monthly fees are $775, and property taxes are TBD.  When you build with Cedar Crest, 10% of the entrance fee is due at the time of commitment, an additional 20% is due when the unit is halfway complete, and the remaining 70% is due when the unit is ready for occupancy.
  • Available Units:
    • Of the 5 units that we are currently building, 2 are still available
      • 1966 Waterford: $400,000
        • Single family ranch
        • 1895 square feet,
        • 2 bedrooms + den, 2 baths, 2 car garage
        • Fireplace, screened porch, deck, quartz counters
      • 1977 Waterford: $345,000
        • 1790 square feet
        • 2 bedrooms, 2 baths
        • Bay window
        • Screened porch
  • Other homes:  We are currently working on pricing for another unit that will have a 1400 and 1600 square foot side.  Our plan is to build more units as we get commitments from people during the pre-sale process.
